Why is the previous data not accessible after changing the Splunk_DB location?

Hi there,

I used this article "https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/7.2.6/Indexer/Moveanindex" to move my indexes to a new location in a *nix machine.
I followed the instructions and Splunk services started successfully without any errors.
However, I can't see any of my data prior to the index move.
The new DB path is correct in $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/splunk-launch.conf file.
The $SPLUNK_DB variable exists.

Any ideas of what might went wrong?

Thanks.

It worked!

So, for anyone reading this post, I'm not sure that that it will work for you if you just copy the files over to the new destination, as mentioned in the documentation.

I deleted the content of the new index and copying files over using rsync this time.
I will update this case soon.
