Hi,
i just installed the addon on Splunk 4.2.3 (linux).
If you have a warning at the top, the message is also repeated under the searchbar box and also over the eventlist box.
Additionally the addon does not work anymore in this case.
Regards,
Jens
JensT was correct, there was a spurious comma on line 56 of excel_export/appserver/modules/ExcelExport/ExcelExport.js that broke IE 8 in IE 7 standards mode. If you remove that comma, _bump the appserver cache, and clear your browser cache, the error should be resolved.
This will be fixed in version 1.3.1 out now.

Our Splunk Server is in our internal company intranet. So its trusted by default.
Using another browser is not an option, as we're not allowed to so. (I work in a swiss bank).
This appears to be a problem with the browser. Can you confirm that you have added the Splunk server to your IE trusted sites? If you use FF or another browser, does this error still occur?

I'm not sure what you mean by "the addon does not work anymore in this case". Can you please clarify?
Regarding warnings, I think this is a product of the way the Splunk Web messaging system works rather than anything specific to the app itself.
