Splunk DB Connect 1: Why am I getting error "Execute method cannot be used for update" trying to run dbquery via CLI?

govarthini
Engager

I have installed Splunk Enterprise edition V 6.2.4 in Rhel machine. With the help of the Splunk DB Connect app, I am able to retrieve the database tables and view the data, but while trying to execute the same DBquery in CLI (command line interface), I am facing an issue. The query which I have given there in CLI is

[root@openstack bin]# ./splunk search "| dbquery DB2400 select * from govarthini.telecom"

The Error that I am facing is:

DB2 error code :SQL code -104 and SQL state 42601. Execute method cannot be used for update.

Help us to solve the issue.
Thank You.

Google says to update JDBC driver. http://lmgtfy.com/?q=DB2+Execute+method+cannot+be+used+for+update

What JDBC driver are you using? http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/1.2.1/DeployDBX/Installdrivers for the supported ones.
