Hi Team,
I was installing the Splunk Add-on for NetApp Data ONTAP (splunk-app-for-netapp-data-ontap_215.tgz) and expecting these 3 folder to be added
SA-Hydra
SA-VMNetAppUtils
Splunk_TA_ontap
but when the installation was down, only the SA-Hydra was added.
Do you know why is that happening?
I tried unzipping the splunk-app-for-netapp-data-ontap_215.tgz using 7-zip, and manually copied these 3 folders
SA-Hydra
SA-VMNetAppUtils
Splunk_TA_ontap
on the etc/apps then I restarted my Splunk using CLI.
Splunk Web (GUI) is Down even though the Splunk Status is running (CLI).
I deleted the folders for
SA-VMNetAppUtils
Splunk_TA_ontap
and restarted the Splunk again. Splunk Web is now Up.
Is there a way to install these 3 folders or there's some issues on these folders?
SA-Hydra
SA-VMNetAppUtils
Splunk_TA_ontap
Looking forward to your answers..
Installation on the NetApp addon is not supported using the splunkweb UI so you need to untar/extract the .tgz package in the $SPLUNK_HOME$/etc/apps directory and restart the splunk.
After installing the NetApp addon, splunkweb would be running on https instead of the default http. So you can try to access your splunk instance using https:<ip/hostname>:<port>
.
You can also refer the below installation guide,
http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/AddOns/released/NetApp/Install
Let us know if you are still facing any issues.
Thanks,
Pratik
@jaracan - Were you able to test out pmakwana's solution? Did it work? If yes, please don't forget to resolve this post by clicking on "Accept". If you still need more help, please provide a comment with some feedback. Thanks!

Hi Pratik,
Thank you for your response. I had tried this before but I did not realize that splunk restarts on https. I tried HTTPS and I was able to see all the 3 add-on components. I tired suing standalone windows server as well as using the forwarder. I followed the below steps but still it is not collecting Netapp data. Any help to resolve this is greatly appreciated.
I configured the Data Collection Nodes & ONTAP Collection which say connection and credentials are valid and started the schedule to collect the data. However, I am still is not collecting any data, I am getting following error in SplunkD log: ERROR : ExecProcessor - raise ValueError("Private Key: '%s' Not Found" % global_cfg['server.ssl_private_key'])
02-24-2017 55:54.251 +0000 ERROR ExecProcessor - message from "python "\SA-Hydra\bin\bootstrap_hydra_gateway.py"" ValueError: Private Key: '<>' Not Found
I checked with windows admin, they are not having any privkey.pem that I can use.
Thanks
mahesh
Hi,
I also have same issue, so I posted below question but no answers yet: Splunk Add-on for NetApp Data ONTAP: Why is the add-on not installing the package components?
Also I opened a trouble ticket with Splunk, hoping to hear from Splunk soon.
