What is the recommended method for configuring Home Monitor with a Netgear wgr614v10 router? I attempted the process using the Verizon router, but I am not seeing any data come through.

If you are not logged into the router, NETGEAR genie will ask for the username and password. The Parental Controls window will appear.

Assuming that this is a Splunk question, and that you want to index the logs of your devices in splunk.

Check the manual of your device, if it has on option to send log to a syslog server, then you can.

  • on splunk, add an input, open the listening port on TCP or UDP on the splunk indexer, specify the "syslog" sourcetype
  • configure the device to forward the logs to the splunk instance on the port aforementioned.

According to the manual of your device WGR614v10, it doesn't have the syslog feature, therefore it cannot log events.

On splunk I added my UDP port of 514 and followed the rest of the directions. I'm running into an issue where in my router configuration I am not seeing how to forward my logs to an IP address.

I forgot part of the title. I'm trying to configure my router so Home Monitor can view the logs.
