I created a Splunk app and I wanted to add a company logo to the top right hand corner. I double checked that the image was less than 160 x 40 pixels and saved it as a 24-bit PNG. I placed it in $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/AppFoo/static and name it appLogo.png, but for the life of me I cannot get the logo to show up. It just displays the app name. Is there anything I'm missing?
Thanks ahead of time
Your icon need a little bit smaller that 36px x 36px because Splunk take off something like 10%. Try with 30 x 30 !
Same for the 72px x 72px.
Good Luck 😉
3no.

Take a look at Add app icon images
Application Icons must be called appIcon_2x.png (32px X 32px), appIconAlt_2x.png(32px X 32px), appIcon.png (72px X 72px), appIconAlt.png(72px X 72px). And need to be placed in $SPLUNK_HOME/etc/apps/<yourAPp>/static.
After I created my app, I've created the static folder and I put my company logo there and named it appIconAlt.png with 36x36 pixels. I had to restart splunk in order for the icon to show up.
Thank you. I'll try to play around with the dimensions and see if I have any luck.
I would start out treating "must be at least" and "must be no larger than" to be synonymous with "must be exactly". Once you get that working, then play around.
I had trouble the first time I did this and I experimented with borrowed icons from other apps. If your dimensions are not exactly correct, the icon will be ignored, there are also strange interactions with the 2x
versions of icons, too. The advice I have is that I am pretty sure the problem is with your dimensions; it always was for me.
