So while it might be a no-brainer if we're enterprise users in AWS managing all on our own, to deploy with the Enterprise AMI (8.0.6) There is a cost associated with running this instance other than our current license (we would be BYOL). So what are the advantages of a BYOL AMI deployment as compared to a self-managed instance? some thoughts: a) timeliness of patch awareness b) certified OS platform for upgrades c) standardized update process for keeping patch aware? d) did I misunderstand the pricing charts? Is an AMI deployment with BYOL not incur any additional costs from Splunk? As in: the costs detailed on the marketplace pages are just AWS billed costs?
