Sorry, I´ve found what happend. splunk> has found the date!! and added the event to te date and not when the file was uploaded!!!!

Hi,
look for the transaction command basically adding to you search line:
" | transaction dest "
Don´t forget to include the pipe
Look on: Transaction definition
By the way don't forget to tag your fields!

I have a little problem with a cvs file, this is the example:

When loaded to splunk> only headers are recognized but no the data line.

Yes, I though something like that but soruce files are 1000 - 3000 records and "fred" shoudl be taked from the observed people list. This is for automatically relate a Anti-money Laundry list with client records.

Hi,
I have three files having similar information, namely: First Names, Second Names, Identification number, so I nedd to make a cross on then getting similar records by 1, 2 or 3 fields, the comparations should be more or less fuzzy.
This search is aim to find observed people.
There is a posibility splunk could do this job? What modules should be required.

Same problem loading locally

Just edited the file with an hex editor and the two first caracters are xA0 (Space character) so no binary data.

I have a file a like to upload to splunk with the following data:
72162397 SANTA CRUZ 00 33527710 01/08/2010 0:01:01 28.00 0.23
72162397 SANTA CRUZ 10 70902676 01/08/2010 0:15:53 1.00 0.20
72162397 SANTA CRUZ 00 70011786 01/08/2010 0:34:20 14.00 0.12
72162397 SANTA CRUZ 00 79052362 01/08/2010 0:35:08 127.00 1.05
[rest of file truncated]
But after upload by "Manager » Data inputs » Files & Directories » Add New" with option "Upload a local file"
I got the following error:

why is splunk thinking the file is binary?

I've recentrly upgrade a free licensed splunk to 4.1.4 from 4.1.3. little after login is imposible as the screen jump from "Checking for updates..." to "No updates found" and again to checking.
The servers is a virtualized centos server.
