Ouch... my stupid mistake: I forgot a comma! { "servers": { "m": { ... }, "splunkweb": { ... } } }, "admin": { ... }, "scheme": "https", "port": 443, "db": { ... }, "session_key": "T1oFnc", "cluster_size": 1, "initialized": true, "auth_token_security": true } In any case, the parameter must be set to true, contrary to what reported in the doc.

In the documentation: http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/MobileServer/2.0.1/Install/Createasecureauthenticationstring#Enable_token-based_authentication ... I read that I have to set the parameter auth_token_security. But in the config_local.json file that parameter is not present. I tried to add it, but the server does not start giving me "Error parsing your JSON configuration file", probably because I have not put in properly... 😉 Can anyone give me a hint?

Hi, I'm planning our Splunk cluster upgrade. I would like to have an estimate of the time of update platform from 5 to 6. Specifically, do you know if the DB files (3 TB) will be updated too and then I'll have to wait the end oh this operation before the system back online? Any experience on this? Thank you.

Yes... "offline consultation" is not the correct term 🙂 Among all indexes that are managed by the cluster environment, I have to copy only three of these on the single non-cluster splunk environment (via rsync, scp, ...) The "non-cluster" node is placed in a separate location and will be used by law enforcement. So, I need a good tip to copy the critical indexes from the cluster environment to the single remote node... 😉

Hi all, I have a cluster deployment with 2 peer nodes (replication and search factor = 2). For backup and offline consultation purposes, I would like to copy db_* and rb_* buckets from one of 2 peer nodes to a separate instance of splunk (non-clustered). It's possible? There are correction operations to do on the buckets? For example, remove the _guid... Thanks! Cristian

In my (particular) scenario I need to use same folder for hot/warm and cold db files. It's possible to configure homePath and coldPath to use same folder? Any problem for db files rotation?
