Why can't I access Splunk Enterprise to complete the Splunk Fundamentals labs?

I recently download the Splunk Enterprise instance to my personal machine. Splunk was working fine until I upgrade from Windows 8 to Windows 10 last night. Now I am unable to access Splunk Enterprise. This instance was downloaded only 4-5 days ago and falls within the 60 day time limit. When I try to access Splunk from the desktop, I receive a "Can't reach this page....Make sure you’ve got the right web address: http://localhost:8000" message. Also, when I access my profile on the splunk website, there is no indication of this instance in my portfolio. Please help.

Can you please check if splunkd service is running or not.

Go to services.msc
and check for splunkd service. I think it should be down. If it down, then start the service and try.

When you upgraded the OS, was the Splunk installation preserved or did you re-install it?
Is Splunk running?
