Hello,

After installation, and changing the initial password of admin account, I was successfully able to enable/disable the SSL settings via GUI and Web.conf file. However, I am getting Permission denied error when i am trying to do the same with the CLI.

The cmd I am using is : /opt/splunk/bin/splunk enable web-ssl.

it prompts me for the user name and password. for user name and entering admin (default a/c created during splunk installation) and password (changed after initial changeme).

FYI -

  1. i am still successfully make the changes via GUI and conf file.

  2. I checked the roles and the admin has edit_splunktcp_ssl checked too.

Please let me know what permissions i need to give for the user.

Thanks in advance.
Krishna

Are you using the same user on which splunk is installed?
