How do I resolve a "peer has status="Down"" message when trying to add a new search head?

Unable to distribute to peer named ROPHAR001A at uri=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:8089 using the uri-scheme=https because peer has status="Down".

I am getting this message on a new search head that I want to add to my system. The original search head does not have this same message. The distsearch.conf has the same information for the indexers.

Your new search head is having trouble connecting to the peer, so it assumes that the peer is down. Is it possible that the new search head is blocked by a firewall from reaching the indexer? You could also try removing the peer and re-adding it manually.
