Hi

I found the drilldown function of SimpleResultsTable does not work after we upgrade to Splunk 5.0.5 and upgrade sideview to 2.7

I run the dashboard "linking2_tables" which is in Sideview Utils App , and found the drilldown function does not work

any idea about it ? thanks

I'm afraid I dont see any problem with Sideview 2.7 running on Splunk 5.0.5.

Can you tell me what browser and browser version you're using?

Have you restarted Splunk after the Sideview Utils upgrade?

Also, I would try clearing your browser cache and see if that fixes the issue.

If that doesn't fix it, can you elaborate on the problem you're seeing? Are you seeing it in any other views? Are there any javascript errors coming out in the Error Console?

Also the linking2_tables view in Sideview Utils actually doesn't use Splunk's SimpleResultsTable module, it uses the Sideview Table module. I just noticed that the text of the documentation on that page is a bit inconsistent - in one place it implies that the example on the page is using SimpleResultsTable, and in other place it refers to it as a Table module. I will fix that inconsistency.

Yea it sounds like Sideview Utils didn't get installed all the way. Maybe you didn't restart Splunk after the upgrade or maybe there had been manual permissions and file ownership changes made on disk such that it disrupted the upgrade later? In such cases you can end up with a frankenstein build where some parts are new and some parts are old. The bugs resulting from such a problem might be subtle or might be very dramatic.

Hi Nick,

I think I did not correctly upgrade sideview to version 2.7 , I tried to upgrade again a few minutes ago, now I am sure linking2_tables use Table module and can work (drilldown) correctly .

my I know why SimpleResultsTable does not support drilldown ?

thanks
