Truck rout heatmap

I have GPS data in splunk (timestamp, Long,Lat).
This is data of one of our trucks.
What I would like to do is to get heatmap by proximity and how much time was spent at each location.
The map must be able to show colors by gps points.
For example if at some point with radius of 100' the truck was there 5 times a day the color will be dark red.
If the truck was there 1 time color will be green (color scheme doesn't matter this is just an example).
I want to know if it's possible to do in splunk and if yes than how ?

Thanks,
Eran.

I can tell you it's definitely possible, as I do remember seeing a demo of data about a fleet of shuttle cars that Splunk had live dashboards on for a conference. In there they had a heatmap that generated around which routes the cars were taking.

I think that they were using a custom visualization built in HTML on top of the web framework at the time, but other custom visualizations may be able to help you here. I will note I have not personally tried this particular visualization but it seems like it may be along the lines of what you may be looking for: https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/3217/

I don't know the exact specifications of their query in the demo either... but I suspect you will want to look into SPL commands like geostats to get to the count of events in each geographic bin based on your data as well (it might be different depending on what the visualization you choose needs)
