Hi
I am trying to configure the Splunk Hadoop Connect app. When I try to add a new cluster, I get the following error:
> Failed to get entities' object ''.
The Splunk server works as a Hadoop CLI (everything on this page is working: http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/HadoopConnect/latest/DeployHadoopConnect/HadoopCLI)
Any help appreciated 🙂
Thanks
Nick
Hi
I think I've worked this out...
I had entered my hdfs uri as: hdfs://<< node name >:<< port >
and is should be: << node name >:<< port >
In other words, you don't need to specify the hdfs://
Regards
Nick

Removing the hdfs://
scheme worked for me as well. They really should update the documentation for this.
We missed this conversation when it happened but have now belatedly updated the documentation.
Unable to connect to Hadoop cluster 'hdfs://<>:8020/' with principal 'None': Invalid HADOOP_HOME. Cannot find Hadoop command under bin directory HADOOP_HOME='/home/hduser/hadoop-2.6.0-cdh5.4.2'.
Please help to fix this error
On the Splunk node, Are you using the same user, same hadoop home, and same java home as your CLI?
What distribution of Hadoop are you using?
I have different Java_Home & Hadoop_Home in Splunk vs my Hadoop client...is that the problem too for getting that error
