I have setup a MSSQL database connection using the DB Connect App, this database does have a specific port. When setting up the database, I can query the table list inside of the database from the setup screen. Once the connection has been established, any attempt to get any sort of info from the database returns this error message: "External search command 'dbinfo' returned error code 47."
Any ideas what is going on or how to correct it? All of the other database connections are working fine and the bridge is running.
Turns out that the app does not like "\" in the name of the database instance. Removing the "\" corrected the problem.
Just wanting to add my findings here too as I've also been receiving this error.
What I found is that the Java bridge may not start immediately after a restart of Splunk. In our environment it can take anywhere up to 15-20 minutes for it to come up (possibly due to the number of DB's we're pulling data from?) and during that time trying it will return an error code of 47 in various parts of the DBX dashboard.
Long story short, if you're getting this error code and the Java bridge is now running then maybe give it 30 minutes before assuming that things are busted.
