Im trying to update Splunk DB Connect but im getting error.

An error occurred while downloading the app: [HTTP 404] https://127.0.0.1:8089/services/apps/local/splunk_app_cloudgateway/update; [{'code': None, 'type': 'ERROR', 'text': 'Error downloading update from https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/4250/release/1.10.0/download/?origin=cfu: Not Found'}]

If I download the app from splunkbase and upload from file, will I lose all config in the app?

Kind Regards,
Michiel

Hi,
You could specify to overwrite if the app already exists.Download and install app from zip file.

Did you tried checking the check box " Upgrade app. Checking this will overwrite the app if it already exists."
Apps-->Manage Apps-->Install App from file.

Please have a backup copy of the app directory before trying out this method.

checking manually the url (https://splunkbase.splunk.com/app/4250/release/1.10.0/download/?origin=cfu) the real reason for the first error is that there is not such app version 1.10.0 currently available (as of today 21 Mar 2020). The last available Cloud Gateway version is 1.9.1. This can be a temporary issue (for example Splunk removed this version). You can restart Splunk and try again.

The second error caused by a process accessing the file you trying to update, could be a Windows-specific.... 😞

There is no difference loading directly from Splunkbase and using the file.

Thanks, simply overwriting the files works perfect.

Hi.
Make sure that you take backup of all the files and i would upload it via CLI if i were you, then you can make sure that all files in your app/local folders are staying intact.

Throws even more errors...

I tried using the CLI but got errors, then tried with the UI and the "Upgrade' flag, and got the same results.

I wouldn't know what process other then splunk itself would be accessing those files?

Would it work if i just overwrite the files at \etc\apps and then move the contents of a backed-up local folder?

There was an error processing the upload.
