Training + Certification Discussions

I just created this account to study for the Core User Cert, but Splunk Enterprise is saying that my license already expired.

It says I should contact an admin to update the license, but it's just me studying on my own. Does anyone know how I can update the license? I've found on other topics in the forums I need to change it to free, but I can't log in to Enterprise to change it to free.

Here's a picture of what I'm seeing.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You need to login as admin user and change license group to "Free license".

Hi There,

Is this an instance of Splunk you've installed yourself on your own machine?

That is correct.

Ok, then yes you'll need to login with the admin account and it should prompt you to change the license type, if not then head to Settings > Licensing and you'll be able to change the details from there
