Installation

Move to another directory after installing Splunk Enterprise

I am using Splunk Enterprise 8.0.0.

My Splunk home directory was installed at /opt/splunk.

I want to move this home directory to another directory.

I have referenced the following questions:
https://answers.splunk.com/answers/2338/move-splunk-install-from-one-directory-to-another.html

Please tell me if this question is still valid.

Also, please tell me anything else you need to be aware of when moving home directories in Splunk Enterprise 8.0.0.

Thank you

Hi @sa_itou,
yes, the solution of the above question is still valid.
As he said, beware if you used rpm for installation, because the original installation path is recorded.
And beware if you used absolute paths in indexes and scripts.
You can also find a useful info at https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/8.0.1/Indexer/Moveanindex .

Ciao and have an Happy New Year.
