I use Splunk Free License.
For Free License, we cannot change the user settings.
I mean, I can't change the timezone in the Splunk GUI.
To change the timezone, I'm guessing i need to edit the conf file.
Please tell me how to change the timezone.
Hi @TAmemiya,
Here's all you need to know about what's available and what's not in Splunk Free :
As you can see you don't have access to modify any user/role configuration:
All accesses are treated as equivalent to the admin user. There is only one role (admin), and it is not configurable. You cannot add more roles or create user accounts.
In case you purchase Splunk you can change the timezone configuration as follows :
https://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/7.3.1/Data/Applytimezoneoffsetstotimestamps#Set_the_tim...
Hope that helps.
Cheers,
David
Wanted to chime in and say you can achieve this at a system level by doing the following:
sudo timedatectl set-timezone your_time_zone
Ex)
sudo timedatectl set-timezone America/New_York
Then just restart splunk.
