I would kindly like to know space conversion rate for example by migrating 1gb sql to splunk
thank you in advance
Marcello
Splunk is not a database. It cannot replace an SQL database.
There is no formula for how much space SQL records will take up when exported to Splunk. It depends on the nature of the data itself.
The best way to know the "space conversion rate" is to export 1,000 or so sample records into Splunk and see how much space is used.
Yes i Know that Splunk is not a database. So could you kindly let me know where i should check the used space in splunk after the migration?
Thank you so much, best regards
Marcello
On a Linux system, run df $SPLUNK_DB
.
