Could someone tell me if the upgrade duration depends on the volume of data? (6 to 7 / Linux)

Hi Splunkers,

I have to upgrade a production environment :
- 6.6.1 to 7.2
- Linux
- 1 index master, 2 nodes, 1 search-head

I first tried to upgrade a test environment (very little data) and the operation was very quick. OK.

Now, my production environment contains much more data : approx. 3 or 4 Tb... maybe more.

Could someone tell me if the upgrade duration depend on the volume of data ?

So in my case, the production upgrade will last much longer ?

Thanks !
David

The software upgrade process is not dependent on the volume of data.
Be sure to upgrade your Master Node first, then indexers, then search head.
