Getting Data In

sourcetype is not listing

i have taken a backup of my app and uploaded in another splunk instance(free license). when i am ttrying to add datainputs it is not listing the sourcetype, when i am trying to create the same sourcetype, it is specifying as already existing. i am not able to add data inputs. how to resolve this issue?

I'm assuming you're using the GUI to set up data inputs. I've noticed that when indicating Select the Sourcetype "From List" that not all existing sourcetypes are available in the drop-down list. However, you can change the "From List" to "Manual" and then fill in the desired sourcetype in the provided field.
