Last week, we started evaluating Splunk Enterprise at my work. I initially set up a Splunk Enterprise instance with a free trial. We spoke to an account rep who provided a trial license. I had not gotten around to installing the trial license yet. Last night, I started seeing this error in my dashboard panels:
Error in 'litsearch' command: Your Splunk license expired or you have exceeded your license limit too many times.
I navigated to the license section and removed the free license and installed the trial license provided by our account rep. Then I restarted Splunk. I still see the "litsearch' error when I search.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Kindly help me know from where or how can I get the reset key?,Please help me with the steps to get the reset key.. I mean how or from whom or from where do I get it?
Great. Thanks for the tip. The reset key solved my problem.
You will need the account rep to send you a reset license. If you exceed your license 5 times in 30 days, Splunk will lock you out from searching. It will still ingest data, just not let you search it. Even though you have a valid trial license, you also need to unlock it. The order in which you apply the trial license and the reset license is unimportant, so get the reset key from the rep and apply it and you should be good.
