configuration file understanding vsid in savedsearches.conf

Hi,

In my saved searches "vsid" is written , can you please explain me what is this and how it could be generated if it is a unique id

And What is the meaning of *: in the vsid value ( see the second one ( gauge print total ) )
[Mail SSO with hits]
vsid = h8fs1qen

[gauge print total]
vsid = *:0vcx9od7

That's the viewstate ID, it references entries in viewstate.conf files. Stuff like chart configurations and similar settings.

The * is a wildcard, as opposed to for example flashtimeline:0vcx9od7.
