How do you change the ip address of the host on which Splunk forwarders are installed?

In deployment server, i can see the windows host with the old IP address. I want to change the IP address of the deployment client.

I want to update the IP address of that host .

Please guide me.

Hi,

Couple of ways...

Change hostname in inputs.conf and restart splunk on client.

Change the default values. Run this splunk set servername foo.domain.com

To clarify, do you want to change the IP address of the deployment server or of a deployment client?
