Hi Team,

We have a Splunk distributed environment running on version 6.3.0 and we plan to upgrade to 7.0.0

Could you please help me with the best way to upgrade Splunk? Do I need to upgrade to versions one by one i.e. 6.3.0 to 6.4.0 to 6.5.0 ....? Any document reference would be very helpful and much appreciated. All my servers are Linux based.

Thank you very much in advance.

I would start by following the manual:
http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/7.1.0/Installation/HowtoupgradeSplunk

You will need to upgrade from 6.3 -> 6.5 and then to 7.x
But the manual has the details.
