Is there an API call or CLI argument to update the password for the bind user for LDAP authentication?

I have a very large, complex Splunk environment and I need to update the LDAP BIND user password. With over 100 instances I need to update it with a script but cannot find either a cli option or an API that sets that password.

You should be able to use following Splunk REST API endpoint to post a request with updated bindDNPassword.

http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/Splunk/6.2.6/RESTREF/RESTaccess#authentication.2FLDAP-auth.2F.7...

(see the example in POST section after expanding it.
