NIX App installed and setup but subsequent launch keeps asking for setup

Hello,

I've got a fresh Splunk install (on Redhat 32bit 5.3) and I'm trying to use the NIX app to collect data from the server it's installed. I've uploaded the App and gone through the setup but when I launch the app it takes be back to the setup screen rather than app dashboard.

I've checked the app.conf and inputs.conf and they confirm the setup has been completed. Splunkd.log confirms the various .sh scripts are running:

10-24-2012 11:55:26.168 +0000 INFO ExecProcessor - Ran script: /opt/splunk/etc/apps/Splunk_TA_nix/bin/iostat.sh, took 1035.2 milliseconds to run, 660 bytes read
10-24-2012 11:55:26.182 +0000 INFO ExecProcessor - Ran script: /opt/splunk/etc/apps/Splunk_TA_nix/bin/cpu.sh, took 1037.7 milliseconds to run, 354 bytes read

Any idea what am I missing?

Thanks,

John

Have you confirmed the file and directory permissions are correct for $SPLUNK_HOME\etc and all subdirectories and files?

Thanks for the suggestion but I've made splunk run as root so it should have access to everything. Splunk was installed via the rpm. It's a clean install so it's difficult to see what could be wrong. I've not changed the permissions since I expect the rpm install will have set them up correctly.
