All Apps and Add-ons

How do you delete an add-on?

I am trying to import a custom add-on in the Splunk Add-on Builder app, and am receiving this message:
"The '[add-on name]' add-on project could not be imported because an add-on with this name already exists."
I did previously have an add-on with the same name, so that is the problem.
Is there a way to remove the old add-on?
I've tried deleting the app folder ($SPLUNK_HOMESplunk\etc\apps), and running "splunk remove app [add-on name], but no luck.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Try refresh in debug mode, that may help you to resync existing app.

I tried the steps in the resyncing link, but I still received the same message: "The '[add-on name]' add-on project could not be imported because an add-on with this name already exists."
