dblookup dbConnect 2.4

Hello,

I have following architecture:

1 SH - 1 IDX - 1 HF with dbConnect installed

Although the SH has dbConnect installed, it no access to the database layer because it´s in the front-end layer, so I have defined a dbLookup at the HF that works with no problems.

But when I try to use it from the SH I got a message regarding the dblookup is not defined. How can I work with the dbConnect defined on the HF in the SH?

It's not possible. You need to install the App on the SH, as well in order to get the dblookup command.
A work around is to create file lookups. In this way:

  1. HF DBX dumps database to index
  2. SH scheduled search creates outputlookup
  3. Use uf lookup in search.

I hope this helps
Ben

Thanks Ben for the confirmation. Your suggestion was the workaround that I put in place just in case, and I can confirm that works fine! 🙂
