We have users mapped via names like "vikram" now we want to map it via "emp id"

We have users mapped via names like "vikram" now we want to map it via "emp id" as we have configured search head with SAML.

In this the biggest challenge is how can we change the user's saved search by his/her EIN else these will go into orphaned search.

Also once the user is mapped via his EIN if he login in via SAML URL will he be using his SAML passwd or please help me with the configurations here.

Thanks.
Vikram.

It's going to be easiest to move those saved searches before you deactivate the old accounts. There are several ways that don't require any programming - the trivial one operationally is to leave up access to the old names, have them each promote all their saved searches using the old account to global so their new account will be able to find them, and then have them clone their own old searches from their new accounts. Give fair warning that all artifacts for those old accounts will be destroyed on a certain date... and then do that.
