The free trial of Splunk Enterprise is installed but when it opens, why does it give me a 404 "requested source not found" error?

The Free Splunk Enterprise is installed, but when it opens it gives me a 404 requested source not found error.

Today I received an email saying, "You downloaded the Splunk Enterprise 60-day Trial License. Are you having trouble installing Splunk Enterprise for Windows? Watch this step-by-step tutorial to help you get started."

So I watched it hoping that I'd find out what I need to do next, but the video only covers everything I already did and doesn't cover why it doesn't launch properly.

What do I need to do?

Thank you.

This might be a port conflict. See this previous Answers posting for more information.

Read through. Tried a couple of things. Didn’t work.

I don’t really need to use it but I help others who do. Hopefully the developers themselves won’t have as much trouble as I’m having.

If I can do it, I can teach anybody to do it. I’m trying to have a basic knowledge of how this works. If someone figures out what’s wrong, they might want to add this kind of troubleshooting (or some preventative setup instructions) to the installation video and docs.
