What is the difference between admin/passwords and storage/passwords?

I am not able to find difference between admin/passwords and storage/passwords.

| rest /services/admin/passwords doesn't work on my Production system, but appears to give the same output as | rest /services/storage/passwords on my dev system. Since storage/passwords is documented, I suggest you use that.

I am using simpleRequest function in python to store credentials. which endpoint will I use? I found two endpoint which are storing same values.

Yes. But I have tagged REST Endpoint Examples because of I am using Splunk rest endpoints.

storage/passwords is used to save user (those who sign in to Splunk) credentials.
I don't see admin/passwords anywhere. Can you post a link to it?
