We had an issue last night where the Splunk DB Connect Input queries tried to run while database maintenance was going on so they all failed and were auto-disabled. I had to go in and re-enable them all this morning. I've gone though the documentation I can find and don't see anything about maintenance windows or an overall disable/enable process.
Is there a way to suspend or suppress all DB Connect queries for a time period during our maintenance windows so this won't happen again?
This situation is completely re-engineered and the problem eliminated in DB Connect V3 which should be released any day. Perhaps @jcoates will elaborate but the solution is to upgrade ASAP to V3.

very soon 🙂 In the meantime, http://docs.splunk.com/Documentation/DBX/2.4.0/DeployDBX/Troubleshooting#Database_inputs_are_getting...
I was hoping there was a better answer but I guess we'll just have to manage for now and wait for the new version. Thank you!
it was a short wait in this case! http://blogs.splunk.com/2017/02/20/splunk-db-connect-3-released/
Missed it by that much!
It just adds to the hype 🙂
People are going to think that we prearranged this!
