Dashboards & Visualizations

Is it possible to take a dashboard panel from one app and put that panel in a dashboard located in another app?

Question to see if this is possible.

I have a few source types with things such as Cisco network devices, where there was some conflict in the mappings, so I put them in separate apps as to not break the mappings. The apps work great.

This morning, I got asked if I can make 1 dashboard that pulls key data from each of these apps together in one place for the network guys. Not asking to merge data, but a dashboard panel from each app.

So is there a way to take a panel from an app, use that app's props and transforms, but put the panel in a dashboard in the main search app?

Thanks

As long as you can make the corresponding knowledge objects (macros/eventtypes/fields extractions etc) , required for that panel search to run, to global sharing permission (in each app), you should be able to access/run the search in third app (Search & Reporting). Other alternative will be to copy all those knowledge objects to Search app where your dashboard will live but that will leave you with two copies of each knowledge object and if once changes you need to manually update the cloned copy.

I was thinking about the permissions for precanned dashboard panels. Concern was about the ones I created. The field extractions are different with some of the apps, hence my separating them previously. If I still share them, would that conflict in the search app as it would when they were in the same app? (sorry this is a new area in dashboard creation for me).
