Hey everyone. I am starting to investigate the google maps app. However before I put too much effort into it, I would like to use it to show our representation across the country (I work for a large carrier with several million customers). From the records we receive we have access to the town where a user is located. I would like to be able to show a fog map that shows our presence, instead of little markers on the map. Has anyone does anything like this? Is it possible? My concern is what happens to the map if we try to portray the presence of several million customers. I have not yet installed the app, and the link on the map splunkbase page points to a localhost instance instead of the documentation. I am looking for something similar to this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ANkSgwgkqo. I just know that the google maps one has a direct line of support.
As mentioned in an answer to another question, custom map overlays are not possible.
