Getting Data In

1000 Windows Universal Forwarders, all configured to forward NO data. I Intend to reconfigure individual UFs as needed just for investigations. What impact will all the idle UF's have on the Deployment Server?

The idle UFs will send only telemetry data to the Deployment Server, and listen for instructions from it. How much of a burden will 1000 idle UFs be on a Windows Deployment Server? What should my optimal polling period be? Thank you.

Polling should take relatively low resources.

You're poling interval will need to be determined based on how long you can wait before gathering data for investigations.

If the UF's are polling every hour and you need to be able to start gathering data in 30 seconds, then you need to set the polling interval to 30 seconds.
