Show typical user navigation paths

Using IIS logs, I'd like to see the most common user navigation histories. For example:

  • How many users went to page A then page B?
  • How many users went to page A and then left the app?
  • How many users went to page A, then page B, then experienced a 5xx error vs. those who went to page A, then page B then successfully went to page C?
  • etc.

this is basic web analytics stuff. you might consider checking out the Splunk Web Intelligence app, it includes a lot of standard views of this sort and teaches you how to set up your own metrics. docs are here:

note that this app is in beta, so you may need to request to be added to the beta program.
