Is there anything wrong with the notification and karma system since Friday?

No Karma updates or email notifications since Friday at least.

hi! we had an issue with our email server, but it is now resolved. the karma system appears to have been functioning normally; can you clarify the issue you were/are seeing there in email to rachel@splunk please?

Hi,

Karma system seems to be behaving weirdly again.

My karma looks fine when looking at the top bar menu, next to the Logout and FAQ links.
But it hasn't been updated for days when looking in my profile, within the users tab or when displayed in a question or answer.

I've also noticed the user javyer suddenly jumped from almost nothing to 2700 points in the quarter to date page within 24 hours. Either that's wrong or I'll ask him about his secret 🙂

Notifications seem to be arriving but I've received a few duplicates in the last couple of hours though.

@javiergn site was undergoing planned maintenance that was required to bring Karma balance in sync and fix the problem some users reported in loss of Karma points. It's possible that some fluctuations were happening yesterday, but it's been completed now. I didn't notice anything with the karma, just the emails were broken for me. Doesn't mean there was nothing wrong with the karma, I just wasn't checking.

Just FYI, I did have 24xx karma last week, and today I found i may have lost 20 - 30 points. I assumed it was because of a previous answer that I had you piebob swap from me having the correct answer to another answer. Meaning we took my answer and unmarked it as the answer. I'm not sure if the karma reaping took that long to occur and "adjust" my karma, or if some karma was lost during the issue. Hence the "anything wrong with karma and...." ????

Same here. I did have around 26xx at some point yesterday but now i'm back to 25xx.

Notifications are working fine now by the way so thanks for that.

can confirm this is a real issue, i think we broke something in trying to fix a different karma bug. will update when we learn more.
