scheduler of limits.conf question

The number of scheduled search splunk is able to run at same time is 25% of maximum number of concurrent searches on splunk index server. If maximum number is 100, maximum scheduled search number will be 25. This is my understanding.
I would like to increase the maximum scheduled search number setting in limits.conf. Have anybody confirmed if this setting work before? Please share your experience regarding this setting. Any comment would be appreciated.

Here is a well documented page
http://wiki.splunk.com/Community:TroubleshootingSearchQuotas

  • you can change the % of search quotas (max_searches_perc) allocated to the scheduled searches. in limits.conf
  • or you can increase the search quota per role. in authorize.conf

Both should work.
