Feature Request?: Drag and drop in multiselect input fields

Is it possible to use / support drag and drop in multiselect input fields? It would be very nice if I could move values from one multiselect input field to another multiselect input field. This would bring more visible interaction in using Splunk, what is often impressive to colleagues.
And by the way: Can you support free text input in multiselect input fields, too?

In lieu of Splunk directly supporting of this in SimpleXML views, you can convert your dashboard to HTML and build whatever interaction you want, using the web framework to get pass info to and get info from Splunk to populate your views.

Check out this doc (and bunches of references off of it): http://dev.splunk.com/view/webframework-developapps/SP-CAAAEM2

I'm not sure off-hand if Sideview Utils provides such an input as an element or not, but that might be something else to check out as well.

Thanks acharlieh.
I want to stay at SimpleXML so HTML is not an option. Maybe I will do it with jQuery, but it sounds like too much effort for just having a drag and drop feature I would locate in the OOTB inputs. Thank for mentioning Sideview Utils, I will definitely take a closer look at this.

While a lot of folks look at this forum, there is an official way to make enhancement requests:
Go to the Support page

http://www.splunk.com/en_us/support-and-services.html

Login and submit a new case. When you submit it, you can mark it as an enhancement request.
You don't have to be the designated contact person or have an active support contract to make an enhancement request.

These requests are tracked and tabulated. The answers forum isn't...

I downvoted this post because it is not a valid solution. a contract is needed for feature requests.

@anselmharti - Thanks!

I would delete the post, but this conversation is worth preserving.

I too found that I could not submit a case unless I used an email associated with a valid support contract...

And it makes me sad too 😞

Thanks Iguinn, I tried this. But I found no other option. Seems that Splunk don't want "free" user request and participate on experience with the Software without contract. That's what Splunk support page told me after login:
Submit a Case

It appears you do not have an active Support Contract or entitlement and as a result, cannot open a Support case. If you believe this is an error, please contact 1-855-SPLUNK S, or consult https://www.splunk.com/en_us/about-us/contact.html#customer-support for a country specific Support phone number and we can resolve any contractual data integrity issues.

All users are welcome to post questions and answers to https://answers.splunk.com/
If you would like to purchase a Support contract, please consult your local sales person who can be found at https://www.splunk.com/en_us/about-us/contact.html#sales

Hm, we probably need to talk to the support folks as that's a change from previous behavior. (Now if it was deliberate, or a side effect of something else is a question. A bug in Salesforce would not be unheard of either). It used to be that without a support entitlement, community members were allowed to submit cases (including Enhancement Requests), however they just had no online tracking (email notifications only) and no SLA to when they'd get a response. I know this because there were times that people at my work logged support cases before talking to me and so we've had to get support to move cases from the community entitlement over to our paid one.
