DB Connect 2 is Loading...

Hi, Splunkers

We have latest version of Splunk Enterprise and DB Connect 2. Connections works well, but from some moment the pages with configurations - Explorer and Operations do not load, it's impossible to create new instance, it's just presenting spinning circle with text "Loading".

Can someone help with advice how to fix it? Thank you in advance

Resolved with turning off the Sideview Utils (ver. 3.2.2). Will try to investigate in details and compatibility between latest versions.

Let it spin until an error message occurs or 30seconds passes. Then look at index=_internal ERROR or WARN to see if any errors/warnings occurred, then come back and update your post if so.

Hi. Thank you for reply. No ERROR or WARN messages occured, but there are a couple records in web_access.log and web_service.log.

web_access:
"GET /en-US/static/@f3e41e4b37b2/js/contrib/require_dev_config.js HTTP/1.1" 404 3137 "https://...:8000/en-US/app/splunk_app_db_connect/explorer"

and

"GET /en-US/static/@f3e41e4b37b2/js/views/shared/documentcontrols/dialogs/permissions_dialog/ACL.js HTTP/1.1" 404 3137 "https://...:8000/en-US/app/splunk_app_db_connect/explorer"

web_service.log:
INFO [5677ad5fe57feb542ac1d0] error:129 - Masking the original 404 message: 'The path '/en-US/static/@f3e41e4b37b2/js/contrib/require_dev_config.js' was not found.' with 'Page not found!' for security reasons

INFO [5677ad64fa7feb543d4b10] error:129 - Masking the original 404 message: 'The path '/en-US/static/@f3e41e4b37b2/js/views/shared/documentcontrols/dialogs/permissions_dialog/ACL.js' was not found.' with 'Page not found!' for security reasons

The require_dev_config.js file was found in /splunk_app_db_connect/appserver/static/js/profiles folder, but ACL.js was not found at all (nor even /documentcontrols/).

I've unistalled the app with CLI with deleting all related files in users folders and service restart - the situation still the same...

Is there an app on the file system(s) at $splunk_home/etc/apps/splunk_app_db_connect/?

if so are the file system permissions correct? Have you recursively chown'd the directory? chown -Rf splunkUser:splunkGroup /path/to/splunk/

Sometimes when you untar/zip these apps, they may have strange uid/gids, guids, etc.

Looks like everything's OK with permissions, also the app was installed from Splunk Base ('browse more apps') , I'm afraid it's something else.

Also, have you checked the metadata for the app to see if the user/role you're using to access it has full read access?

Yes, the metadata was checked - seems all fine.
There are following repeating record in dbx.log:
[CRITICAL] [rpcstart.py] RPC server has been terminated abnormally with error [org.eclipse.jetty.server.Server@6a396c1e - STARTED].
It's hard to say when existing issue was started so I can't correlate it with with this error.

IS there a log for splunk_app_db_connect in /path/to/splunk/var/log?
