Why can't I get this Eventgen example to work and seeing "SyntaxError: Missing parentheses in call to 'print'"?

Trying to run the example from https://github.com/splunk/eventgen/blob/master/README/Tutorial.md#deployment , but I'm getting an error. Not sure what to do to fix it. Trying this on Windows.

python bin/eventgen.py README/eventgen.conf.tutorial2
  File "bin/eventgen.py", line 113
    print '\n\nCaught kill, exiting...'
                                      ^

Have you tried confirming that the environment is using the correct python? It sounds like it might be attempting to use the wrong version of python by chance.. This is a pretty typical error when there is a version mismatch
