Why am I getting "Introspecting scheme=mqtt: script running failed" trying to enable the MQTT Modular Input add-on on a Splunk Cloud instance?

Hello all,

I am trying to test and understand the capabilities of "MQTT Modular Input" app on Splunk Cloud. For this, I simply installed "mqtt_ta" app, but every time I hit the "enable" button, I get the message

Unable to initialize modular input "mqtt" defined inside the app "mqtt_ta": Introspecting scheme=mqtt: script running failed (exited with code 1).

Would you please enlighten me if (and what) I am doing something wrong? Or is it simply unsupported?

Installing Java Runtime on the Splunk server resolved this error for me.

Try to setup the app on a heavy or lightweight forwarder instead.
- the heavy forwarder will have an UI, it may be easier.
