Why is Splunk not prompting for a username and password to log in?

Hi Team

I am using a dashboard in Splunk Web. Whenever I access Splunk using my IP address or FQDN, it's not prompting for a username and password. It's logging in directly.

Pls let us know what we have to do to require a username and password to log in to Splunk Web.

That sounds like you're using the Free license.

HI

Thanks for your reply.

Yes I am using the Splunk Free license.

But I also have Splunk installed in my local Linux system and it's asking for a username and password. That is also the free version.

the one asking for credentials is probably still within the 60 day Enterprise Trial license timeframe. the Enterprise Trial allows you to try out Enterprise features for 60 days, which includes user authentication.
