Hi guys I just tried to install the AMQP MMI app on splunk free (Win32) and got the following startup error. Does anyone recognize this error, if so do you know of the steps to fix the app?
Unable to initialize modular input "amqp" defined inside the app "amqp_ta": Introspecting scheme=amqp: script running failed (exited with code 1).
Thanks in advance,
Curtis
I was getting the same error. When I checked my Windows Server, I found that I didn't have Java installed in it.
Then I installed latest version of Java (8.0.191) and the error is gone now. Now I could able to see AMQP Messaging inside Data Inputs in Splunk. Please check if you have JRE installed and the version is above 1.7 as mentioned in the documentation.
Have you followed the troubleshooting steps in the documentation ?
Going to restart this issue, because I'm seeing the same issue.
I've got Splunk enterprise 6.3.3 build f44afce176d0 setup running on Ubuntu 14.0.4 in a single node "cluster". I can run the command as user "splunk" "opt/splunk/bin/splunk cmd python etc/apps/amqp_ta/bin/amqp.py --scheme", where I get a big xml output. Is this not expected?
In the /opt/splunk/var/log/splunk/splunkd.log, I only get the above message:
04-07-2016 06:59:19.325 +0000 ERROR ModularInputs - Unable to initialize modular input "amqp" defined inside the app "amqp_ta": Introspecting scheme=amqp: script running failed (exited with code 1).
Can you help?
Did you resolve this issue? And how?
The Same for me.
Latest 6.3-version of Splunk running on win server 2008 r2
hi yAlff. I didn't find a solution using this plugin. I opted for another approach which worked out of us. Sorry I couldn't help more. Cheers.
Hi ,
What is the other approach that you tried?
Hi splunkdevabhi, I ended up starting by writing my own stats collector from our rabbitMQ instance by dumping the metric(s) data to a file. That got to messy and hard to maintain so I opted for the AppDynamics RabbitMQ plugin.
Nobody has answered "Have you followed the troubleshooting steps in the documentation ?"
Are you using a correct Java Runtime ? win server 2008 is VERY old.
