I configured instances in 2 boxes: 1 box acts as a deployment server and search head, and the other box acts as an indexer or search peer.
I am not able to see my deployment server or search head as a client in forwarder management app.

The answer is NO

A deployment server cannot be a deployment client of itself.
(but it can be a deployment client of another deployment server)
