Getting Data In

server side logs

Hi,

I have completed the client side logging using universal forwarder, now i want to log server side logs in splunk server,
can you please explain me how to achieve this. You documentation isn't explaining much or i'm not getting proper link.

What do you mean by server side logs? You would use the universal forwarder in the same manner on a "Server side" role as you would on a "Client side" role. The only difference would potential file inputs and permissions.

Explain what you mean in a bit more detail.

Thank for replying back, Actually i have completed with the client side logging with javascript using universal forwarder but now i want to log server side logs into the splunk cloud, using splunk appender, log4J.properties i have read that "log4j.properties", but i'm not gettting what should i write in it, or there are other files where i have to write.
