How to share dashboard results in Splunk 6.2.1?

Can you say a little more about how you want to share your dashboard? Are you thinking about embedded reports?

If you sharing within Splunk Enterprise, as shown in the video you mention, then you can share your report with others , as documented in the Reporting Manual ("reports" are equivalent to the old "saved searches"). In the older version of Splunk Enterprise, you would see a dialog box with the sharable link, as the video shows. In the current version, after you set permissions for the report, you can copy the link from your browser address bar.

Note that neither the video nor this procedure discuss providing a link to a dashboard. But you can set permissions for a dashboard to be shared for all users of an app, similar to a report. See Specify dashboard permissions in the Dashboards and Visualizations manual.

And if your machine has a name on the network, you can use that and send the link from your address bar.

I may need to move my dashboard results to a server to create the outside link rather than creating a link from my laptop with localhost. I thought that was a simpler way to do it since in the video she uses a link that can be access from the outside to the report results.
